About Us
Meet The Farmer
Hello, I am Sion Hunter and I run Highfield Farm. My family have been farming in Hertfordshire for many years. I took over Highfield in 2021 and have been working to produce high quality crops and get more local people in touch with where their food comes from.

About The Farm
Highfield is a mixed farm which means we grow crops as well as rear animals. We grow wheat on two thirds of the farm which is usually used to make biscuits. On the rest of the area we grow Maize as a break crop which is used by a local anaerobic digester plant to create renewable electricity for local homes and businesses. Along with the crops we have a flock of sheep which you may have seen grazing on the fields around Tyttenhanger or near our vending machine as well as nearly 1000 pasture raised chickens.

  • ''Turned up on a Sunday afternoon, and the eggs were all gone! No worries, there's a number on the information board to text for info, a fast and friendly reply, and a lady with more eggs turned up almost immediately. Fantastic. There's feed available to purchase to feed the hens, which is a lovely experience. If you walk up and down the length of the fence, the hens will chase after you 😊. The eggs were superb quality, had some scrambled for breakfast, very tasty. Will definitely be back for more''
